REBECCA RUTTER
Visual Artist, Photographer & Performance Maker
Rebecca has worked as a performance practitioner for fourteen
years. Her career to date has traversed many forms and varied media of
thetheatre-making sphere. In the beginning Rebecca participated in the
utterly gargantuan and implausible; Sea-going barge theatre, Island theatre,
Fantastical machinery theatre, Swirling light and the quiet falling to
the dust theatre. Credits include Splinters, Odd Productions, C.I.A, Adult
Youth Of Today, Snuff Puppets, Cirqueidyllic and most recently Well Theatre.
Rebecca has had a stab at all things creative including (but not limited
to)Traditional theatre, Installation Art, Site specific performance, Butoh,
Stomping, Circus, Musical Theatre, Comedy, Puppetry, Spectacle Theatre.
Reveling in the terrain of mistakes and encounters with monsters Rebecca
chanced upon an approach to a theatre of her own.
If you spoke to her now she would introduce herself as more of a Writer,
Visual Artist and Maker. From expansive beginnings Rebecca found herself
pulling the face off the dog and pitching important cutlery into the night
driven by a desire for whimsy and experiencing the dirt of the kingdom.
She has created two theatre works of her very own 'Coracle' 2006 And 'June'
2002 The process of their creation has given her an insight into her own
potential for horror and a quiet desire for corrupt beauty.
